Ideal candidates will bring expertise in one or more of the following areas: legal matters, particularly human resources or corporate law; human resources; accounting or finance; or governance. This is an opportunity to contribute strategic insight, support strong governance, and help shape the future of primary care in our community.
About Primary Care Networks
Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are not-for-profit organizations funded by Primary and Preventative Health Services (PPHS), operating under an agreement between Primary Care Alberta (PCA) and individual Primary Care Networks.
The Edmonton Southside PCN has been in operation since 2005, employs over 190 staff, supports more than 120 family practices, and is comprised of more than 400 member physicians and NPs.
The Role
The ESPCN is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving as an Independent Director on the ESPCN Board of Directors. - Setting policy and providing overall leadership to the PCN, which includes setting priorities, fulfilling the mission and vision of the PCN, and providing oversight.
- Working collaboratively with Primary Care Alberta (PCA) to govern the joint venture agreement between the PCN and PCA. This joint venture role includes developing business plans, annual budgets and service delivery models; managing key leadership positions; and approving long-term and/or high-value contracts.

This is an opportunity to help guide organizational priorities, support good governance, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of primary care in Edmonton.
