“Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime”
This famous saying is one of the foundations for the creation of our upcoming virtual cook-along workshop series, called Kitchen Basics.
Healthy eating can be difficult on its own, but when cooking is added to the challenge, it can make it even harder, especially when trying to manage a health condition like high blood pressure or diabetes.
Kitchen Basics is a four-week, 90 minute virtual cook-along workshop. This program is built for anyone who wants to learn how to cook healthy meals that are easy to make.
In this dynamic and positive workshop series, participants will increase their confidence in preparing simple and approachable recipes with the support of two dietitians. Each week, participants will be provided with a guide on how to prepare for a recipe in advance and cook-along during the workshop, all from the comfort of their kitchen!
Topics such as basic food safety, label reading, meal planning and knife handling are also presented, with an emphasis on providing participants with the opportunity to increase their skillset in preparing healthy balanced meals that taste great.
